Wing Commander, Wing Commander 2, and Wing Commander Academy Extracted/Fixed MIDI Packs by pahandav

General Notes:

These are Roland MT-32 MIDI files, and require an MT-32 or MUNT to play them back. SysEx patch banks are included for each game. You can send those patches to the synth with the right MIDI player before playing the files.

All of the tracks were extracted using WCToolbox. For WC2 and WCA, I had to rename the MUSIC.R00 files to MUSIC.MID and I used the WC1 XML unpack command to unpack them.

The tracks are numbered in the games' internal order. More correct orders are provided in the Track Lists.

Wing Commander:

Some of the tracks from WC1 play perfectly fine without any editing, and those have been copied unedited. The rest of the tracks had to be played back in the game, using the poor-man's sound test (aka, I replaced the Rec Room track and started a new game). All of those tracks were recorded using MUNT's recording option, and edited with MIDIPLEX. Almost all of them played back that way except for the funeral track. For that, I had to record the funeral sequence in the game. This meant I had to edit out the sound effects. There are two versions of the track included. The fixed track removed track 6 which was generating spurious sounds on playback. But I did include the original one in case you want it. All track names are based on the names included in the files, except for the Origin FX track, which has no name.

Wing Commander 2:

Most of the tracks in this required editing with MIDIPLEX to remove the OMI looping data. A few had to be played back using the game. The track names are based on the list here: http://vgmrips.net/packs/pack/wing-commander-ii-vengeance-of-the-kilrathi-ibm-pc-at. Also, track 18 in this and Academy is different from Track 18 in WC1.

Wing Commander Academy:

All of the tracks unique to Academy in this are copied unedited, as they contain no looping data. The names have been made up by me, except for the one that I don't have a clue about.
