joystick w/WCIV Speaking of joysticks, I'm using a Logitech Wingman Extreme Digital with my newly patched WCIV. It's kind of sloppy. There's a deadspot on center that makes precision aiming difficult, but the game still kicks a$$. I play Privateer2 with a mouse. It's awesome. I've tried the...

WC3 I lost my original crappy Aureal 360 sound-video card over a year ago. I had to replace it with a Sounblaster card, which is great for windows, but my pc doesn't have an ISA slot, so I can't install a DOS soundcard. So I can play it, but without sound--which is kinda pointless.

WC3 There doesn't seem to be one for WC3 either. I thought I might replay that one first, then redo The Price of Freedom. Oh, well, I'll have fun with WCIV then. I love the high degree of interactivity in the game planning...and the Dragon...and the Leach guns...and the intrigue...and the...

WCIV HEEEEYYYY IT WORKS!!! You guys just made my day!! Is there such a patch for Privateer. That would be sheer bliss!!

BCC Actually, I prefer Netscape, which is what I use at home. The newer versions have bcc, but I don't see any option for disabling attachments or HTML. How secure do you guys think it is? If it's worse than Outlook, I guess I'll look into Eudora. Thanks again.

patch Crap. I just dug out my WC4 game. It's a DOS version. I used to play it in WIN95 using the Dos reboot. Will the patch still work? Will I have sound or not?

patch Cool!!! Is the patch available on the CIC? Gotta link??

Email I use Outlook because of its blind carbon copy feature. We send e-mail to a private list of customers for sales updates. If you guys know of another e-mail product that has better security and bcc, I'd like to hear about it. Of course, I can disable html and attachments, but since I send...

No, I haven't. But I'm using a Win98 system now with no DOS soundcard. So unless there's a Win98 version of WC3 or WC4, I can't play it until I get a new/old pc.

No, I don't. I may not be a power user, but "a total retard" I'm not. I disagree. The popug gives you the exact time of the attempted intrusion and the ip address from which it came. When we first installed ZA, we actually tracked those ip addresses and contacted the isp they were going...

We have a server with its own firewall. The trojans come in as attachments or embedded activeX files in e-mail. As soon as they are downloaded, I get an alert from FSecure that tells me what was downloaded and where it is {usually in a temp folder}, but the software can't disinfect it, nor...

Re:Excalibur & Windows 98 Yeah, the Excalibur. Awesome ship. And that's exactly what I mean. I played WC3 and the Price of Freedom via the Dos reboot in Windows 95. Windows 98 doesn't support it. You can start the game, but eventually you run out of memory and it begins crashing. I had the...

"Chicken Little?" I don't know about the other assertions regarding Gibson's hyperbole, but I don't know if I'd call him "chicken little". Do any of you guys work in an environment where you deal with webservers or handle a lot of e-mail? I get anywhere from 20-40 emails a day and usually, at...

At least they weren't furry. Most people associate furry with cute&cuddly. Name one menacing creature in a sf movie made in the last decade that had long, well-groomed fur.

Oops Yes, thank you. I meant Hellcat. It's been a few years since I've been able to play WC3 or 4 because of an upgrade to Windows 98. Btw, what was the name of the ship introduced at the end of WC3 with the auto targetting guns? That was a cool one too. My favorites are that one, the Dragon...
