I like the dralthi..er...whatever that double-crescent fighter is...and the stylized Hornet...er...whatever that hornet-y fighter is..... This looks like all the cinematic and visual weight of Wing Commander .... wrapped around a world that is the more-dynamic Freelancer universe.... The...

Try to get the concept art of the CARRIER! It's a full-ship landscape-format shot. I saw it briefly on the /start page just after the personal note from Chris.

ooooohhhhhh...*sigh* I fell for it... :D HA!

LOAF, I just looked all over the CIC page........where do I go to send you money? Unfortunately, it didn't jump out at me. I figure I can toss you AND Saga a jackson each when I d/l and pay for it in the next week or so.

(RE: FRED and SDK) Fantastic news! You've single-handedly crafted an epic extension of the WC universe for all of us... I'll definitely pony up to pay for this and support/reward the hard work you guys put in! Much obliged!

I had to vote for the Waterloo. It had such a beautiful design, powerful specs, and was a great accompaniment to the Concordia and Gilgamesh of WC2. Incidentally, WC2 is my absolute favorite of the series so I'm completely, unabashedly biased :-)

:) ...hey, I got a turret too, pal!!

:-) ... and when I read your post about loving WC, beer, and (uh) chicks... I was going to quote Maniac about needing to so some "bone-ing UP on your periodic table of elements" :-)

Youngblood... never a good thing to have diagnosed :-( congrats on the engagement!!! What's your favorite WC character? ...maybe we can start a running thread of "greatest hits" or "greatest quotes"

this is amazing!

Hey, Chris... one other thing: JuJu, in his latest (he lands on Batille and is staring at, I think, a Nexus?) illustrates something I'd like to see. When in LOOK mode, could you have the cursor tell me what ITEM I've got it over in addition to NPCs? Maybe just SHIPS? That might be a nice...

Agreed, it made me wonder about a few things... example: He keeps having trouble with getting stopped by every NPC...I specifically noticed that (because his comment stuck in my head) when I scanned the manual and started using the "S" key to swap past them.

I spent a number of hours this weekend getting back into ascii-sector... fantastic stuff, Chris! You've done a phenomenal job here and I hope you can continue...I'll also look into donating some money via paypal on your website!

Hey! I searched this thread and didn't see any reference (with my search terms) but there's a series of youtube vids showing someone playing through ascii sector and it really shows off the game interface nicely. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rlm4r8zBHP4&feature=related

Let's see, it was 1999, I was a sophomore in college. I'd already been a fan of the game series since 1992 or 1993, when I got Wing Commander on Super Nintendo (and proceeded to play it through and through and through and through - I don't KNOW that I hit every mission on every track, but I'm...
