Plywood Fiend
Rear Admiral
(Me again)
I've recently been working on a Wing Commander themed Tabletop RPG game which is fairly close to being in a releasable state. Right now there remains play-testing to be done, along with the purging of typos and a few last pages to write for the manual.
The Story: Set in the Vega Sector in the year 2655, around the time of Operation Thor's Hammer, you play a newly arrived pilot onboard the TCS Norfolk, an experimental Exeter modified to act as a light carrier. A period of relative calm following the successful conclusion of the Vega campaign is soon to come to an end, with the wrathful Kilrathi eager to avenge their humiliating defeat. Whether they succeed or fail will depend largely on your efforts.
The Setup: The game is a journaling RPG, requiring a d6 and a deck of cards to play, as well as something to note down your character's adventures, successes, failures, missions, innermost thoughts etc. in. This game is intended primarily as a solo RPG but it can easily be modified to accommodate two or more players. Further details will be in the game book when it's released.
For any mission, events at each Nav point you fly to will be determined by whichever card you draw; battles will be determined primarily by dice rolls, but it falls to you to turn the odds in your favour as much as possible with careful decision making.
All being well, I'll return soon(ish) with more news. In the meantime, here's a few sample pages:
(PS. The title may change in due course.)
EDIT: Fixed the Star map
