Hi,

This is my attempt to try and preserve historical info regarding versions of Wing Commander I/II before the passage of time causes it all to disappear from the Internet altogether. Hopefully it's somewhat accurate, it's organised by product chronologically, covers WC1, WC2, Kilrathi Saga and deluxe edition compilations. If there is something horrible inaccurate let me know. There are some suggested (but only suggested) patching strategies at the end and does anyone know why the WC2 deluxe editions were never patched? Anyway you can find it on my website here:

Wing Commander I & II: A primer

This is really well done! Absolutely wonderful.

They're pretty insignificant at this point but it might be worth listing the Gametap releases in the history too.

I've been doing a bit of digging and although a lot of it is speculation (given those releases no longer exist) I think I can tie a few sources together add something that may reflect what they may have provided, and they were a part of WC/WC2 history even if they are no longer available! So I'd like to add them, thanks for the heads up on those!

DarkenedRoom, this is FANTASTIC! Thanks so much for doing this!!

Very thorough work!!

Great work DarkenedRoom!

I'm wondering if you can include a link to the reconstructed source code of WC1 (The Kilrathi Saga): https://neuromancer.github.io/wc1-re/
