Updated WC3 Excalibur Cinematic Model Print

Next question: Could I bother you for a set of drawings or 3D files? This would be the perfect template for reworking my balsa wood Excalibur.

Updated WC3 Excalibur Cinematic Model Print

Awesome! I used that same set of WC3 manual drawings for my Hellcat model. Excalibur is just such a gorgeous design.

Updated WC3 Excalibur Cinematic Model Print

Awwww yes, what an absolute beauty! You say this is based on a Shapeways model? Did you make any modifications to it? I'm curious as to the original source for the model. It looks spot on from every angle compared to the cinematic high detail model.

Chris Roberts talks about his dream game in 1995

The incentive to release is exactly the same as with any other job: finishing what you started and doing it well. Taking money from people and not delivering anything is fraud. These folk are professional game developers and I assume they would like to continue making games for a living. I can't...

Still one of my absolute favourite ships.

Chris Roberts talks about his dream game in 1995

So you're happy with the way the big studios and publishers currently run the gaming industry?

Chris Roberts talks about his dream game in 1995

You think that games or movies are made by one person? It's always a team effort. The stronger the team, the better the end result. Whether it's Lucasfilm or CIG, they have both attracted extremely talented people at the top of their respective fields. Clearly the people working on the project...

Chris Roberts talks about his dream game in 1995

Sadly, people look at Star Citizen and think "scope creep" when the insane level of detail is what CR was planning all along.

Squadron 42 Shifts Into Indefinite Pre-Beta Phase (December 29, 2020)

Fair points all round. I'm not really in a position to argue one way or the other. Time will tell whether this project will deliver or whether the naysayers get to say "Told you so". I prefer to stay on the optimitic side. I can wait for Squadron until CR is happy with it. In the meantime, SC is...

Squadron 42 Shifts Into Indefinite Pre-Beta Phase (December 29, 2020)

Not sure I understand the incompatibility angle, tbh. These are two different games, yes, but they share a common codebase, which means improvements made to the one carries over to the other. Star Citizen is actually a fantastic testbed for SQ42. If dogfighting or FPS combat isn't functioning...

Squadron 42 Shifts Into Indefinite Pre-Beta Phase (December 29, 2020)

If combat is more your interest, the MMO part of the game has plenty of that too. You don't have to trade or mine or do cargo runs. Same as it was back in the Privateer days.

    Any WC-like game you recommend?

It's not finished yet, but given that it's CR's next project and the spiritual successor to Wing Commander, you should probably look into Star Citizen and Squadron 42 at some point. https://robertsspaceindustries.com/

    Defiance's Eyecandy Thread

Good to see some Star Citizen comparisons popping up now and again. It's a dream come true for those of us who've always wanted to explore more than just the cockpit of these ships.

    Welcome! (October 11, 2020)

I adore Armada. It's still insanely fun even after all this time.
