French Promotional Booklet Beautifully Highlights Wing Commander (July 16, 2018)

(Left page) Chris Roberts has designed, developed and produced some of the most sophisticated and inspiring games of their kind. He had three 1987 #1 bestselling games in England: "Match Day" "Wiz Adore" and "Striker's Run". Roberts was 'senior systems vice president' of Origin for eight...

Used Privateer 2 Comes with Patch Floppy... and More! (June 28, 2018)

Beautiful little find. Did you check to see if the floppy is still good?

Looking Back at Confed's Space Force (June 24, 2018)

I suppose that's one aspect they could have got away with completely overhauling. Completely new ranks wouldn't look out of place in 500 years time. ...but then, neither would anything else. From the clothes we'll be wearing by then to the food we eat. We could well have 'built in virtual...

Wing Commander Meme of the Day: Shut Up And Take My Money Fry (June 10, 2018)

To be fair, we were all guilty of buying the Orion the first time around. It's a mixture of wanting to try something new after a good deal of time with the Tarsus, and more importantly, indulging in the novelty of spending our hard earned cash on the only ship we could afford :D Can't imagine...

Saw Vagabond last night in an episode of MacGyver

Yeah, aside from Hamill, he's arguably had the most successful *post* wing commander acting career. I was going to mention LOST too. He's popped up a few times - most recently I saw him playing a man trapped inside one of the twin towers during 9/11 in some kind of docu-drama. I don't recall...

    Rebel Galaxy Outlaw!

Howard you have nothing to apologise for! Please take our enthusiasm for your projects as praise, and although Pioneer wasn't meant to be, your latest teasers look absolutely gorgeous and I'm sure I speak for most of us here that we can't wait to see the end product.

    Rebel Galaxy Outlaw!

Looks fantastic. +1 to no multiplayer, call me old fashioned but humans can really ruin a good gameplay experience and immersion factor for me. Howard, please don't take this the wrong way, but I hope this won't be a WC Pioneer style tease. I mean no offence by this of course, it's just that...

    My collection is finally there!

Excellent, well done on getting it all together. Don't forget Armada, it's by no means a favourite of mine, but it certainly has a place in any Wing Commander collection. Then there's Academy, of course, and if you want to go full hoarder, grab yourself a 3DO and the two Wing Commander titles!

Lego Darket Built Out Of Digital Bricks (January 13, 2018)

If it was made with real Lego, it'd probably have about the same armour rating as the real Darket.

Amiga WC thoughts + Amiga World Review

Like many of my fellow British wingnuts, the Amiga gave me my first taste of Wing Commander. We only had an A600, I don't remember it performing that badly but I never tried it on any of the high-end Amigas. Man, it feels like a lifetime ago.

Lieutenant colonel rank wing commander 1??

I was going to do a quick (cheaty) playthrough the find out, but the informative answer @UnnamedCharacter gave seems to make my point irrelevant. SM2 is certainly the seperate executable (as Paladin and Bossman are replaced by Jazz and Doomsday) ~ but I'm almost sure it's SM1 that brings in...

Lieutenant colonel rank wing commander 1??

If I'm remembering this right, the Lieutenant Colonel rank and all that goes with it (chalkboard name, shoulder pins, conversation references, in flight comm texts) are in the WC1 game files, but there aren't enough available kills in the game to reach promotion to it without SM1. You can...

A Revised Discussion of the Kilrathi Language

I assumed it was either a geunine oversight and he meant monsieur, or he was being ironic after all the talk of leaving the word in there :)

A Revised Discussion of the Kilrathi Language

Videopad, Audacity, Notepad and Zerius Vocoder all in action. Also, that Lion Vocoder tip seems to work neatly, I've not considered that approach before.

A Revised Discussion of the Kilrathi Language

Stellar work as always. I like the Kilrathi standardization of Angel's rank too ;) Ok, give me a week or so, and we'll have an interesting project. Many, many thanks - especially for for the phonetic pronunciationsof everything, this will help me immeasurably!

Is WC Kilrathi Saga still desirable?

I've been having a blast with the intro video thus far, it'd be far too ghetto to simply dub over the existing voices - so I've stripped the audio, and compiled an entirely new soundtrack from scratch. The music remains original as there's a decent quality version of the intro music from this...

Is WC Kilrathi Saga still desirable?

Alright, thanks for the info - and yes, I need to dust off Audacity once more. Now, regarding the translating - honestly you can take as many liberties as you like - because very few will be able to call you out and what I'm aiming for is just to have the Emperor and Thrakhath talking in...

Is WC Kilrathi Saga still desirable?

The dialogue please :) I'll no doubt PM you with questions regarding pronunciation. I've done voice acting a few times now, most recently on a mod for X-Wing Alliance, but what will take the time here is making a Kilrathi 'snarling' voice effect, and of course remixing the audio from the entire...

Is WC Kilrathi Saga still desirable?

As an aside to the above, if @capi3101 were to translate the opening conversation from WC3, it'd make an interesting project to dub over it in actual Kilrathi :p I'd be happy to do the voice part, just not the translating ;)
