Windows and WC3 had issues since the beginning https://devblogs.microsoft.com/oldnewthing/20240415-47/?p=109663 Different key command, but hey.

Not really a gimmick. The other stores could blink out of existence and there goes all your games with it. Or a store could just remove a game from your library - Sony has already removed purchased products from people's libraries, as has Steam. And that isn't even including people who lost...

The primary goal of GoG is to sell DRM-free games. In the beginning, that was basically a lot of older games because that's all rights holders would give up - if they could make a few extra bucks selling a 20 year old game, bonus, who cares if it's got DRM or not. But these days, a lot of newer...

With this, will GoG finally fix WC IV?

The trackball is actually a model Microsoft made for laptops. Early laptops didn't have pointing devices so if you wanted to run Windows, you often had to pack a separate mouse (and there were not "travel mice" that were really tiny). Microsoft created that trackball which clipped to the side of...

Anyone know how good GoG is on fixing things like this? It would suck if the forums gets flooded with complaints that they need to replace files that came from GoG.

I understand the green and red columns, but what does the yellow backgrounds mean?

Are you out of disk space? Your virtual disk could be full. Or your real disk could be full if you're using a dynamic disk.

The trend still continues. There's a ton of new CCGs launched every year, some even featuring big names (Final Fantasy, etc). They also pretty much die out. The biggest one to launch so far would be Star Wars Legions I think, which is beating out Lorcana for newest CCGs with interest...

I didn't try WC3, but I have had it on a Pentium 266 MMX laptop with a NeoMagic graphics and a Crystal sound chip. It has a docking station that exposes a standard game port with MIDI. I'm going by the fact that if WC3 had a MIDI problem, we'd probably all know about it and there would be...

I'll have to find my Creative cable - I bought it a few years ago, and it's around here somewhere. It's not sold as a cable alone, but with Voyetra MIDI software. It's full name is apparently "Sound Blaster MIDI Kit" - you can see some photos of it -...

Are your cables with electronics on it or just plain cables? The game port to MIDI cables I see often have buffers and optoisolators (as required by the MIDI spec) in order to work properly. Many cheap USB-MIDI adapters have similar problems because they cheap out on those components and it...

It could also be watch numbers were terrible for it. Having the perception "it's for kids" didn't help and probably turned off a lot of people who would otherwise enjoy it. Everytime I see news about it, people are like "who cares it's a kids show". Yes, it is, but if you're an adult, you'll...

Well, I don't do Netflix. Hope they do a disc release. (Don't mock it, for the longest time that was the only way to watch it).

Thanks for the FAQ. It was helpful to know what's going on about an otherwise forgotten part of Wing Commander lore. Too bad EA never enabled backwards compatibility so it could be played on the newer consoles.

Roland also still has the Sound Canvas VA software synth - https://www.roland.com/us/products/rc_sound_canvas_va/ - which can emulate the SC-55. There are apparently ways to hook it up to DOSbox and other MIDI devices.

Is it full movies or just trailers advertising the movies are coming to home video?

The problem with long development times is that you end up re-doing a lot of the work over and over and over again. Things like the game engine changes - the one you start with gets obsoleted and now you have to waste a couple of years switching to a newer engine (this one has impacted games far...

Darn. I was so looking forward to this, but I can't support Indiegogo...

Likely long out of print and no one's selling it anymore so it disappears off Amazon. If you have the ISBN it can probably be looked up in libraries and used book stores like abebooks.
