It's EA. If anything, they'll make it more expensive and kill it because George won't be able to hand over the money. My only question is when should I expect an email to get a hold of the digital copy - I believe you get it even if you buy the CDs?

And if anyone balks at $60 for a CD, realize the autographed CD cost kickstarter backers $100. So this is a REALLY good deal. Here's the CD track list - from the kickstarter update - https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1373816047/wing-commander-music-orchestral-recording-project/posts/1436393...

Yay, international orders are now available! Got an autographed CD on the way. $4 shipping is ridiculously cheap.

Still US shipping only...

US shipping only? That kinda sucks.

Not profits - revenue. Only a handful of movies have actually made a profit (usually accidentally). Hollywood accounting makes it so every movie loses money in some form. So points are based on the actual revenue. Because if it was profits, it'll be $0. And yes, Hollywood is incredibly...

Password managers work. The well known ones like legitimate 1Password (there are so many fakes), KeePass and others store their database in a secure format, typically encrypted before it hits the disk with industry-standard hard to break encryption like AES256. The key is that your master...

For those who haven't read it, Patreon was hacked earlier this week or last week. The information taken has been posted online. While passwords and payment data were either hashed or not stored, the real extent of this hack is that members identities, both giving and receiving are now public...

Heh, that's a clever way of "lighting up" those buttons.

Happy Birthday CIC! Was that an album on Apple Radio or something?>

Looking at it, it'll be close. It's too close to call right now.

It's Weird Science the movie, not the TV series. And I was wondering about the date (is there a remake in the works?) since I'd forgotten about Robert Downey Jr's past - if there's ever a tale of cleaning up one's life, it's his.

Heh, high memory was a really neat hack. Though I thought later versions of DOS let you do that too. Ah, QEMM. What was the task switcher called?

2000 is 15 years ago - things have changed significantly in the decade and a half. Source code control systems have changed, documentation is lost, and no one remembers where the database was put so you can check the code out again, or figure out that since such an old version was used, the new...

For me, well, the games machine was always tied up (desktop PC) so my stuff had to be done on a laptop PC. But at least that laptop was MINE, and even though sound was hit and miss, I could play with it as I wanted to. With the desktop and it's nice soundcard and whopping 8MB of RAM, well...

One of the experiments on it was created by Grade 7 students in Kamloops, BC. I'm sure that class is heartbroken over the loss... (they're in Grade 8 now). http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/british-columbia/antares-rocket-explosion-kamloops-students-lose-science-experiment-1.2816319

Heh. I bought a computer in 1996 with a 2GB hard drive. I remember I upgraded it with a humongous 20GB one sometime in 1998 or so. And I had a laptop with a 6GB hard drive, purchased around 1998 as well. I still think the harder part was managing the hard drive. At least I had a 56k modem so I...

Heck, I don't think it was just the all-night download, it was the disk management as well. 112MB was huge when your hard drive was only 10GB. Or smaller.

Yeah, it doesn't make sense. CD-ROM drives HAVE to deal with 74-minute discs because that's the standard length. (Supposedly the wife of the Sony president wanted a particular classical music piece to fit on the entire disc without splitting). 60 minutes doesn't really buy you much at all -...

It would be interesting - I mean, a 2015 release would mean primary filming would going strong right now - either wrapping up if it's a spring release, or starting if they plan a holiday 2015 release (there are long lead times - after primary filming it goes into post and VFX which can easily...
