    Pilot Awards Ceremony

No, if I remember correctly, Bill Johnson reprises his role as the Guardian in U9.

It's hard to presume - without an explicit Tiger's Claw KIA roster - who exactly was onboard during her destruction. Shotglass could very well have left before the mission to K'tithrak Mang (he wasn't in active service, after all) and could very well have opened up a cantina somewhere.

    Memory Lane

Yeah, I know. I went there somewhat recently, too, and got completely turned off by the background premise. Was bummed, too, I was looking forward to some role playing.

    WC3 bugs

Yes, a couple times over the years. May have even been the same mission.

    Memory Lane

I remember the Aces. I think the word you're looking for, LOAF, is 'elitist.' Of course, I mean that as a state of mind rather than a statement of quality. Fortunately, I didn't get much involved. I received HTL by mail, and I recall one of the Start-Up RPG's a member started (Avenging Angel...

Finally! Wing Commander books have arrived!

No correction required; Ultima 3 was indeed the first game published by Origin.

Todd & Rosy - a sad story, indeed

It might just be my affinity for the art of film making. I tend to be a harsh critic on film, music, and art, since I partake in them as a hobby. Wasn't really so much how the character was protrayed so much as how Lillard acted, in general. Way too much facial emphasis, felt forced. He spent...

Finally! Wing Commander books have arrived!

Now that's a battle; one hornet facing off against velociraptors and diplodoci, all while inside Master Control. I'm not sure what my oldest Origin thing is. Probably the manual from Ultima III. My oldest game manual, in general, is the manual to Adventure, for the Atari 2600.

Who knows? Is his death during the destruction of the Claw ever confirmed? If so, then we have our loophole; Armada happened in a tangent universe!

Todd & Rosy - a sad story, indeed

For sanity's sake, I try to blot the Lillard Maniac out of my mind. Still, my favorite Maniac was his incarnation prior to WC3 (Wilson plays Biff playing Maniac). If anything, though, you'd expect that the Rosie incident would have had a sobering affect on Maniac, rather than bolster his ego...

I know we can't speak in absolutes here, but I choose to believe that the Shotglass reference was intended to imply that the pilot served on the Claw. After all, it may have been an attempt to make the player feel like the character from both prior games; catering to the player's...

Finally! Wing Commander books have arrived!

What I'm surprised most at is the condition of all my original game manuals. Those things were published like tanks. I was too young to appreciate most of them when I first got them (I was 9 when we got Wing Commander, and I used to take Claw Marks to school), and even today they're all in very...

Knight's the only loose end, really. I think we know the fates of everyone else we fly with who was on the Claw, and then the Concordia.

Finally! Wing Commander books have arrived!

Odd. I must have the luck of the draw when it comes to the copies I get. I've only ever had one paper back whose glue wasn't up the snuff, and the cover fell off.

    Blair & Paladin's Pilgrim Crosses

It always looked like a letter-opener, to me. You stay out there too long, you lose your ability to open mail.

Finally! Wing Commander books have arrived!

Book killers! You people baffle me - both my brother and my wife are reknowned tome-destroyers, and every book I've loaned them goes out in excellent condition, only to come back with slightly torn, permanantly bent covers, with 3 or 4 folded pages. I don't know how this happens. Every book...

    Shrike Gripes

Yes, the 3dfx test let you do that. I liked the Shrike, personally. Then again, I also liked the Tigershark.

    Piranha... bites!

I was pretty partial to the Saber in WC2 over the Ferret, but that's all flying style and personal preference. In fact, it's been years since I played WC2 far enough to hop into a Saber, so my opinion may have changed. Still, I'll take the Ferr's twin drivers any day. I didn't have much...

    Wing Commander's music

    Any word so far?

I'm not sure Knight's fate was ever elaborated on. I don't recall him being referred to after WC1. He's pretty much the only known pilot that we don't know too much about. I think we'd have seen him reprised if he were on the Concordia, though.
