The Good Ole Days when this site meant something . . .

Scorpion, stop trying to defend yourself. The fact of the matter is that no one really cares if you screwed over LOAF or he screwed you. And, even if we did care, LOAF has a good deal more credibility since everybody knows who he is. Most of all, these long posts that have no relevance to...

    Privateer Missions

Speaking of Privateer (allbeit 2) and saving women... Wouldn't it be fun to save the pleasure planet bartender chick from P1. Man, was she HOT! Sorry, just had to throw that in there. Continue the discussion.

    What is with the Nephilim?

In the games. But it took a lot more than that to dent a Hakaga.

    A new game idea

Actually, don't dismiss it that quickly. It sounds like the perfect ship for a great sci-fi parody. It would be the prototype of a trans-sci-fi-universe (TSFU) warship. The TSFU warship would be the pinnacle of warship design. Whereas all other warships must remain in their own universes...

    The Fan project post

Did HCl get a job at DA? If I could ask a few questions of people working on fan projects (maybe this could be a decent poll topic sometime): What kind of experience do you guys have going in? Did you start by programming small games to gain experience, or did you jump right to the big show...

The Good Ole Days when this site meant something . . .

Wow... Has this turned into one messed up little thread. To resolve these little arguments, I suggest either rock-paper-scissors or mud wrestling, but the latter depends on how sexy everyone looks covered in mud. On second thought, lets have at it with rock-paper-scissors.

the current state of the kilrathi empire

Well, I'm sure the Kiranka clan will install a new Emperor, but I doubt that most of the higher clans would actually recognize it. The distruction of Kilrah was a giant shift in power, and the Kilrathi can only coexist amongst each other when they can channel their hostility outward. Although...

the current state of the kilrathi empire

I really don't think anyone from the Kiranka clan would have the best claim to the throne. Of course, not having read FC I don't have your info. If memory serves, they are actually lower born than the Ki'ra clan, and surely took the brunt of the distruction at Kilrah. Also, wouldn't the...

the current state of the kilrathi empire

Well, if it doesn't say one way or the other in the book, I would assume Kiranka if they take orders from Melek. However, the Sihkag and Kurutak clans, since they have the lowest blood, would also be likely hail to his nobility, since his presence alone would probably honor them. I think you...

the current state of the kilrathi empire

In WC4, I would think that the Kilrathi we see are forces of the Kiranka clan, of which it would appear Melek is now the baron. No book knowledge here though sadly. I own them all, but have only found time to read about half.

the current state of the kilrathi empire

Do the Kilrathi still have an Imperial Guard? I wouldn't expect them to have one as they aren't united behind a emperor, to my knowlegde, at this time. Although, with the Kiranka clan taking a serious hit on Kilrah, you would think the Ki'ra clan would have asserted itself very quickly.

The Good Ole Days when this site meant something . . .

Definetly agree on the something vs. something threads. Sure, they lead to serious flamage sometimes, but it was really funny how passionate some people, myself included, are about their favorite sci-fi universe being able to kick the asses of everyone elses favorite sci fi universes. Of all...

    Jump Capable fighters....

The fighters in Armada must be a lot different, seeing as they don't require a carriers support - ever. You think sooner or later your pilots would die of starvation or something, and how the Lexington managed to bring a seemingly limmitless supply of pilots, and was able to crank out all those...

    Next game. . .

Thinking about online games... Why do they make you pay for the game to start out with? I'd be much more likely to try some of the games if I could download it, pay for one month, and try it out. If I decided to keep playing, I'd probably pay for a retail version with a CD for convience...

    Next game. . .

I couldn't do more than one MMP game at a time. I have a thing about spending money. When I do, I get the most out of it that I can. I don't go to a buffet unless I can eat a cow, and I don't pay the monthly bills for an RPG unless I can put in massive amounts of time. Unfortunatly, that...

The Good Ole Days when this site meant something . . .

Oh... Well, then, it isn't a rule thing, but people discuss their lives a lot less here now then they used to. I used to see a lot more threads concerning people lives outside WC. Actually, I can't really recall any threads since I've been back concentrating on non-WC life. You people do...

The Good Ole Days when this site meant something . . .

Who doesn't miss the past? The older I get, the more I realize the past ruled. I don't have time to ever play games anymore, but when I do I prefer to play WC3, Priv, or Ultima 7. The only problem is, I don't own a computer capable of playing Priv or Ultima 7 anymore, and I don't really have...

The Good Ole Days when this site meant something . . .

Hey Icy. I remember you. I just came back a few weeks ago after a two year absence and have been posting. The environment has changed a good deal. Mostly, it's because we don't have the immediate hope for more WC games, so all the constructive threads we used to have about features we'd like...

    Wing Commander....DEAD?

Actually, the sun doesn't have any deuterium any more (although stars do use it early in their lives). If it did, life on Earth wouldn't exist because of the neutron bombardment. The sun uses normal hydrogen in a cycle catalyzed by carbon that is not very direct. There is even a little AM...

    What is with the Nephilim?

Thank goodness Origin threw realism out the window. It may hurt the parts of me that love realistic sci-fi, but realism sucks. In fact, the reason we play WC is to escape reality. God knows if we really were in WC, we would give anything to be people back in 2000 that could just go to...
