It is a scientific outpost, but the military did indeed care, for a while that is.

    What is with the Nephilim?

Actually, why are there dreadnoughts in WC? A dreadnought is kind of a stupid idea, IMO. A carrier's power is its fighters, you don't want to expose it to fire. By throwing heavy armor on one and some weapons, you might be gaining a really nice weapon, but you are putting your most valuable...

    What is with the Nephilim?

I think the best answer to this question comes from todays Navy's, as WC is really based off of them, so I'll just pull stuff of the US Navy Fact File for the hell of it. Frigate (or Corvette) - Frigates fulfill a Protection of Shipping (POS) mission as Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) combatants...

    Prophecy Missions

In WC4 we saw the Intrepid get to Sol as fast as the Vesuvious by taking jumps that wouldn't accomodate massive ships. Repleetah might be distant for fleets because most of the jumps to it only allow for the travel of very small vessels. Just a thought.

Wing Commander Multi (for real dude)

Vondoom - I agree that graphics shouldn't have to be cut back since they are stored on your hard drive and only the positioning is handled by the servers, but if you play UO you will quickly see that the graphics there are antiquated. Maybe it's because the challenges of developing a...

Wing Commander Multi (for real dude)

A MMP space sim would face one big problem, lag. Lag is one thing with something slow paced like UO where even if you are in a fight and you can't do anything for ten seconds, you are generally okay. Most of the time, it is annoying, but not detrimental to the game. With a space sim like WC...

    What is with the Nephilim?

Very true Penquin, the Japanese moral had to be low, but still pulling back seems a little strange for the Japanese. Afterall, in many cases the closer they came to defeat, the harder they fought, another similarity to Confed in WC3. It just seems kinda silly that they would pull back their...

    Yaaaaaargh!!! (Sounds of computer smashing)

Yeah, but its oh so much fun to singlehandedly take out a cruiser or carrier. Its just a shame doing so is so ungodly easy as you can either park inside the carrier or right against the cruiser's engines and fire away. Sadly enough, the corvettes may actually be the hardest cap ship to take...

    There's a what?

I've read it may have potential for sending quantum information given more development.

    Wing Commander....DEAD?

I definetly agree with Pedro. We could easily go back to CG backgrounds and keep the actors to reduce costs. All CG isn't a really bad option either, since it does look really good anymore. However, I just find it easier to relate to actors, who, although they might be pretending, I know are...

    Whoa! Crazy?

Hey, some people just WISH they had a PII-266. Not that I want to lose 100mhz clock speed, but as I'm running a laptop your computer probably runs significantly faster anyway, and you can throw in a graphics card and a soundblaster live np. Meanwhile, after a year and a half I'm still in a...

    Yaaaaaargh!!! (Sounds of computer smashing)

Hey, as far as WC fans go, I am probably the most inept pilot. But thats okay, I can still enjoy the game experience, and if I can I'm sure you can. If you have to cheat to continue go for it. Or, if the arrows and hellcats are holding you back, take a thunderbolt in and use a torpedo.

    There's a what?

Well, I'm pretty sure I couldn't go that fast, but I'll definetly try it with some photons.

That is a thought, but a thought too depressing to discuss. Long live the Confederation.

Weird way to get killed in WC3

Penguin, if there is ever a WC multiplayer game and that game has some sound gliches, remind me not to fly on your wing. [This message has been edited by Wolf Dog (edited September 24, 2000).]

    What is with the Nephilim?

Yeah, I just LOVE to oversimplify things. Of course we don't make our stuff just for surprise attacks, but sneaking in and doing damage is the stuff of legend that shows up in movies. You also have to worry about defense, and realize that you won't be able to outwit your opponent at every...

    Wing Commander....DEAD?

Actually, I think the blue hair is cool, but I'm a little partial since I dye my hair blue. Not everyone shares my affinity for the color though. I've noticed that some places it doesn't go over too well, career fairs especially. I just hate when people see the blue hair and automatically...

So, if you eject, what happens then? I've never tried it, but now I may have to.

    What is with the Nephilim?

Penguin, I agree completly. Ships always try to use stealth to evade enemies, and there are many ways to go about that like limmitting communications as Earthworm pointed out. However, in the phrasing "stealth dreadnought," you are implying stealth capabilities far exceeding the norm...

    Wing Commander....DEAD?

Its amazing how times chance. When Priv came out we were just happy to finally have a main character with a respectible hair color. Now not only do we expect normal hair coloring, but good acting as well. I'm sorry people, we can't have it both ways. [This message has been edited by Wolf...
