Hey LeHah, I don't follow Star Trek much anymore. Who is that in the picture?

I'm not a brainless sheep, either. But I have two tours in a active combat zone. I have witnessed the need for leadership, and the consquences of the lack of it. I have provided the leadership that, under fire, saved the lives of nine men, by leading my squad to destroy the enemy that pinned...

No, no, I know he wasn't advocating it. I was stating that the any nation wouldn't be too smart to pay another nation to do what their own industry and economy could do. Sorry if that post was a little confusing.

Thank you Death. Took the words right out of my mouth. Hard to believe that at 39, he hasn't experienced enough real-life to believe in the necessity of leadership.

No, anyone who has served in a leadership role anywhere will tell you you must earn respect from your subordinates, and your boss. They may have to respect your job position, but you must earn their respect and confidence. Same goes anywhere else in the world.

Name one major surface combatant that Britain has purchased for combat use, in modern times, and which country they bought it from. I cannot think of one major surface ship that the Royal Navy has bought since the Lend-Lease program was ended. The RN has one of the best ship-design and...

Ok, I wasn't sure if we still had a oil-fired carrier on Active Duty. That's good to know, that the old Connie is still there. Wonder how many times she's been updated to stay relevent....

I don't seriously believe they have any nuclear devices.

Trust me, the US military will not put a multi-million dollar fighter until the technology is fully proven. Even advanced design will be dropped if it is flawed. Just look at the M-8 rifle. I agree with Quatro, MAD worked with the Soviets for 30+ years, and it will work with N. Korea. Kim...

You're right, it didn't make sense, I was just repeating myself, let me clarify. Manufacturers will produce certain critical parts, like wings, whose technology give that company an edge. They won't tell the other country how to build that part them themselves. An example is the M-1 tank plant...

Eh, it was just something to discuss. Hell, maybe they just want to be seen as good european partners or something. What's the range on the F-35 compared to the Eurofighter? Obviously the F-35 could carry external tanks, but that gives up some stealth, as well as possibly a weapon slot...

Well, here's two ideas. The US military purchases all it's major end items from domestic manufacturers. Not only does this bolster the economy, it ensures that the US is self relient in producing defense items. Britain could be trying to secure its means to build planes by itself and with...

Frosty, The Typhoon is a air-superiority fighter, while the F-35 is a ground attack fighter, designed to be a stealthy counterpart to the F-22. Britain just uses the Typhoon in the role of the F-22 No, it disintegrates. Kinetic energy warheads function just like a tank's sabot round, and...

I think this paragraph is totally wrong. No, the US Navy SM-3 missile is designed to shoot the missile down in the boost phase, before it leaves the atmosphere. Thus, it must be relatively close. The missile can't fly for 40 seconds, how can it carry a several megaton bomb, which N. Korea...

Yeah, I've read that too. Wonder if the guy coming up with names was a WC 1 fan?

Getting back to the subject, anyone else see this? Looks like they went with the Lockheed version over Boeing's, and gave it the name 'Lightning II'. Wasn't that going to be the original name for the F-22 before they named it 'Raptor'...

I didn't mean to imply that you were ignorant of the history of the war. I just react kind of strong to the term "police action". To me, it demeans the memories of the soldiers that fought then. War hasn't been declared in the traditional sense since WWII, but Congress has passed...

First, there is no need to insult me. I was no trying to correct anyone (and I apologize to T.C. Cgi for the patronizing tone, I didn't intend that), I was stating my views and opinions so they could be considered by the other members. I also was not trying to 'reject' anyone's response...

That was a war. Talk to anyone who survived, it was war. I've seen enough to know. Police Action is when the cops pull me over for driving through a stopsign. Yeah, it is splitting hairs about the end of the war, but consider this; if the war is over, why do American and S. Korean soldiers...

Ok, I was wrong, but I wasn't too sure about it in the first place. Well, the current sactions don't allow any trading with them anyway, the only 'trading' is the food and medical aid the west, and especially S. Korea sends. If they stop, then we get the images of the starving N. Koreans on...
