Hi all. Shortly I'll be getting my new XDA 2 and I was wondering if anyone could answer a simple question for me. Is running old Wing Commander Games (original copies) through DOSBox on a Pocket PC (running Windows Pocket 2003) the same as it would be to run it on a normal Windows XP PC...

What's the size of this file?

One great thing it adds is management. Because the game is set in a war torn future (filled with mercenary groups along side governments) you're little mercenary group doesn't get the funding most government military's get. You're squadron has to make business deals to get missions and manage...

The quality isn't really what's bugging me, it's the fact that I have to install the horrid Real Media Player just for one file. PS: Don't hate me. Also re-encoding would be a nice idea but is there a better source available?

I'd be VERY interested in something like that! You don't see many intelligence stories in the Wing Commander universe. This would be fantastic!

I'll make use of this thread, is it possible for anyone to convert the file from Real Media? I can't stand it. Sorry to be fussy but there is no harm in asking.

Okay thanks for that. I thought maybe it was the same as I never heard of a 'Sega CD' and when they released the Sega Mega Drive here over seas it was called the Sega Genesis so yeah. Is anyone able to get small mp3 or video clips of the speech or pictures from these games to give us a chance...

Is there anyway we can see the the speech from Wing Commander 1 on Sega CD. I have a Sega Saturn (I think that's the same, at least that's all I ever saw here in Australia) but never saw a Wing Commander game for it.

I'd love a Wing Commander boardgame! But it needs to be a very big universe. Starbases too. Not just Terran and Kilrathi. We should have Firekka, Border Worlds and all that too. Either way count me in!

I strongly agree with this. It would go well with Flight Suits (with the orange Eisen shirt) or even Navy/Space Forces Uniforms.

I'll answer these as best as I can. Colonel Halcyon was the Wing Commander of the TCS Tiger's Claw. He was responsible for holding briefings and maintaining the Claw's fighter wing. When he assigned people like Maverick (Blair) as wing leader, that simply meant when out flying with a wingman...

I like the idea of a cap with a confed logo. Just a quick off topic question, what is Shangri-La. It sounds familiar.

Thanks very much for that reply guys! Just one final question, you said they usually ask for a digital design. Is it possible to get large posters of Wing Commander Art (such as the Kilrathi Saga box and those Zan art posters) in digital format to have reproduced as printed posters? I'd love to...

Just a question. Are there places where these items can have replicas made? I'll be doing my best when the serious bidding starts, however I'm not one of the Wing Commander fans who has hundreds to spend on collectibles like this. But I'd happily take a replica of some sort. Will we see items...

The bright side (no pun intended) of Kursawa is the Golden Sun medal.

Thanks for that! Just got me very interested in getting a copy of the novel now. It's good to know Angel wasn't the Wing Commander, now it just means Halcyon is camera shy.

I take it one or two of those characters were taken out of the final cut in the film? Or was there something I missed at the beginning with Admiral Wilson?

Pilgrim Traitor?

Don't bother asking EA. Their support for current games is absolutely pathetic and their support for older games is non-existant.

I have hundreds (literally) of PC and console games and I've never lost a CD to scratching or any of my pets (or family) yet it's such a common problem. I'd be willing to help out, but I'm not sure if this is allowed.
