;( Still gives me small flashbacks of frustration.

The Amiga CD32 version (which I never got) had better graphics than the regular Amiga version.

Played the first WC on the Amiga at about its release...I remember the agony of browsing the (Amiga) computer magazine store section for the WC Secret Missions expansion that never came.. I didn't play the next WC game until late 1995 when I found WC4 for PC at the local video rental of all places.

Not many acting roles. It's more directing & writing by the looks of it.

Whaddaya think? He's a natural! No CGI there! :D This is of course the son of Malcom McDowell and Mary Steenburgen: Charlie McDowell (b.1983). In all seriousness he would have been perfect for the role..:) Or...If they make a WC-sequel he could play the son/grandson of Admiral Tolwy, now a...

Looks like my version. Main difference was that my version had Swedish language manuals.

The game is about 7 dollars/Euro right now on Steam. Ironically I picked up my copy a few weeks ago on Humble Bundle. :D

Dang! I'll always remember him as Pilates. He was also Chief Bogen in Grim Fandango speaking of gaming.

I thought first he was simply a French celebrity or something.

Who was(is) the guy in the ad?

Stumbled upon a four-page article featuring an interview with (mainly) Richard Garriott but also input from Chris Roberts about the Ultima V and Times of Lore games. The article was featured in "Amiga Computing" magazine, December issue (nr.7), 1988. Enjoy!

In November 1991 I was 12 and this magazine was one of those expensive import-mags I couldn't afford on my allowance. Of course it was all Amiga for me in those days..The original WC hadn't even been released for Amigas back then.

Did some browsing of old issues of Computer Gaming World (CGW) over on archive.org and found some interesting snippets concerning Wing Commander, Chris Roberts and Origin between October 1990 (issue 75) to around august 1995. Not the straight up WC-game reviews mind you but the much less...

As I'm reading the above entry it occurs to me that the ribbons were probably the one thing about the original Wing Commander I didn't even notice or gave any thought to at all. I mean yes: I read the manual entry on ribbons but I never once took notice of them on my character. It simply never...

It seem to be alright now. When I wrote my last post I had tried and failed to remove the redundant "img" but it looks good now. If it happens again in another topic/post I'll let you know.

There are only two images for the article. There was some issue when I posted the two images and it left two "

Dammit the pics were resized to a smaller scale. Let me know if the text is too small to read and I'll find another upload-site somewhere. *edit* Done. Should be larger size now.

Was browsing through an old issue of Computer Gaming World (issue number 132) and found a very brief interview from July 1995 with Chris Roberts. Not a very deep interview but still interesting :)

Almost forgot: I'm pretty sure you wont find the rear side of the box in the US/Asian versions:

Apologies..Just found the box after some digging and yes it is a version with a flap "Made in the EU". It's been so long I must have forgotten about it. I took them (plus a few other) boxes down and took a few snaps. Note the flap doesn't extend all the way to the edge. And just as a...
