It's probable that you have a FAT16, rather than a FAT32. I should know, I'm using the FAT16 As such, you use about 16Kb per cluster as against 4Kb in a FAT32. You could convert it to FAT32 in WIN98, but that means reformatting your drive. <ugh> ------------------
