There are some differing effects when dealing with the smartgun, IMO. AvP 1's tracking with the smartgun is often too laxing to do much good. By the time the tracking "locks on" to a bug (Or often, a gaggle of bugs), they are already clawing at you. The tracking in AvP 2 was a far better...

The stuff in MechCommander 2 was pretty good. Though the campaign could've been a half-dozen missions longer.

I thought it was very odd, but then, the DT books have some undermeshings of other literary works in it as well. So maybe that tracks a bit. I was actually more surprised that Jake never thought about checking up on his family once he was back in NYC. Considering how bad his parents were in...

I think the secondary warp core was meant as a replacement back-up. But for whatever reasons, they (The writers and the producers) never used it and eventually, it was written off entirely.
