Party Prep In Full Swing (July 30, 2006)

The CIC Eighth Birthday Party is less than two weeks away! We all know that everyone comes for the fun, but we like to sweeten the deal by giving away Wing Commander related birthday presents each year. The current prize list includes Wing Commander books, games, DVDs and collectibles and CIC merchandise such as polo shirts, playing cards, Eisen tees, hats and glasses. A custom made Prophecy-style flight suit will go to one lucky attendee, and rare copies of Wing Commander 4 on DVD will also be available. PeteyG has donated several sealed Wing Commander CCG packs, and the Black Lance HQ will also award two party-goers with $25 gift certificates. Everything takes place on Thursday next week. At 7:00 pm Eastern US (4:00 pm Pacific and 11:00 pm GMT) on August 10, everyone begins gathering to count down to our actual anniversary one hour later. We'll be ready to go with a batch of special birthday features available at the website, and you should be there too. Is than an FM Towns copy of Wing Commander I see?

Nope, that's a Super Famicom (SNES) version.

The super famicom version of wing commander came in a red box? Does the back say or look different than the regular black snes version? (also will it work in an SNES)

What is that directly to the left of the snes game? With the red looking ship on it.

The European PAL Super Nintendo version of WC1 came in a red box (and Secret Missions purple). That particular copy has entirely German text on the back, although the translation is the same as the US SNES WC1. The screenshots are different.

The vertical box with the Gratha on it is the Japanese Super Famicon version of WC1.
