[Bandit LOAF]

I love checking DeviantArt for new Wing Commander fan art. There's an endless churn of AI pictures of sexy Kilrathi and erotic drawings of My Little Pony to sift through... but when you hit on a great Excalibur scene or a ship from CountvonSchnaps it makes the check worthwhile. And then there's another type of post: absolute nonsense from genuine weirdos. And I want to stress that I'm not making fun of that: this kind of absolute, incomprehensible fandom is one of the best things in the world. So let's take a look at a couple of recent ones!

First up we have Melv2002, who... edits characters from the Wing Commander movie into scenes from the movie Galaxy Quest. Why? Who can say. Do they at least do a good job? Not really. But this kind of weird, loving nonsense is what makes the world go around (one, two, three).

And someone named EezySeven has... this. It's some sort of crossover between Woody Woodpecker and Wing Commander that's in honor of Tim Curry and is maybe also protesting... Call of Duty? Does that mean anything to anyone else in the universe? Absolutely not, but it's great that it's part of the texture of everything. Also, I can't stress this enough, the Kilrathi guns are very accurately drawn from the ones we see on Wing Commander Academy.

[COMM] Tribute to Tim Curry

Commissioned by @Nimmoisa000

Long live Tim Curry, best known for Nigle Thornberry from The Wild Thornberrys, and Doctor Morocco from Transformers Rescue Bots two of his biggest roles.

However, he also did some smaller roles, like he played Nicky Knickknacker from The New Woody Woodpecker Show and Kilrathi diplomat and vizier Melek nar Kiranka; Prince Thrakhath's alien advisor and vizier as well as in-flight Kilrathi voices in the 1994 video game Wing Commander III: Heart of the Tiger.

Hence why Nicky has a Kilrathi rifle and pistol, most likely he likey bought it at an Kilrathi military auction when they demilitarized.

As for the background it also a reference and roast to Call of Duty

The reference comes with that Modern Warfare 4 (2026) where a war between N. Korea and S. Korea breaks out.

The roast because of how far gone COD had gone in terms of multiplayer skins. Like at what point are they copying Fortnite.

And we'll close with a piece by Saurrian, a drawing of Spirit from Wing Commander I. And she's standing in front of a Raptor VDU for some reason.
