Bandit LOAF
Long Live the Confederation!
The original Wing Commander shipped with almost every single feature planned in its original design documents... but Strike Commander was a different story! The original version included multiple aircraft from different ereas, ground vehicles and a much more elaborate story. This preview from the August 1991 issue of Strategy Plus magazine shows some of that... it's a pretty exciting take on the game, which was just starting to make headlines at the time. Some great prehistoric screenshots, too!
And for completionists, the issue also includes a capsule preview of Wing Commander II... which somehow ends in the totally normal worry that the "thought police" are going to censor Ultima VII.
