Very nice-looking! If you want, I can give you tips via DMs to import the ship to Homeworld and Freelancer if you want to fly it around (actually not too long once you have the files, so you could probably do it in less than a WE even without experience). I quite like the various choices you made and it really feels like the in-universe designers took cues from work on the Excalibur and implemented what they could in it to make a new workhorse fighter.
Thank you all very much :) I am also very glad it's finally done... it's been quite a way...
@L.I.F. I would very much like to take up your offer ^^

After seeing CountvonSchnaps' renditions of the Thunderbolt and the Longbow, I took the chance and had a chat with him.
I was especially impressed by his painting style and the way he interpreted or added new details to the existing ships.
So I asked him if he - on commission - would do a take on my own Hellcat.
And I have to say - I really do like the result:

Hey guys - long time no see. I hope you are all doing well. I have decided to post something new...

Since I have been working extensively with ChatGPT lately, and one of my final goals for my "Hellcat VI-mission" was always to create a short movie in the end, I thought I might try using this AI to generate a storyboard for me.
So here are the first three pages of my KI-generated storyboard. - Let me know what you think

I appreciate any advice you can give me for better results, especially regarding one of my main challenges: how do I ensure the AI uses the same settings for each new image, particularly for facial appearance? Additionally, why does it struggle so much with displaying ship and fighter models correctly?

Hellcat_VI_on-the-flight_new.png

It's called "the chase" or "the flight" and it is a snapshot from my one-day-to-be "movie-project" (which is still my long-term goal): 3 Hellcat VIs being chased close to the hard deck by superior forces. ...

Are they stealth or low observability fighters? Their angular shape and black color allude to that ⬛⬛
Good Morning. I am not quite sure how to answer this, because „low observability fighters“ gets lost in translation and I am not quite sure, what you mean…
Anyways - No, the are not stealth! Normally they have the dark blue-ish grey, that the F-16 has… The dark colors are a result of the light adjustments I did in PS, in order to make it fit into the background image.
Because, as you can see - it‘s not a rendering. It‘s a screenshot from my newest, reworked HC-6 version in Blender integrated into the background image with some additional PS-work…

The backbone may be, but probably not the F-16 equivalent.
I compare it a lot to the F16.
Ok F16 is a "Light" Fighter maybe Arrow is more suitable .
But I see Hellcats as cheap fighters ,easy to maintain and in large numbers. Like F16s

To be honest I have tried a few times in the past to match Wing Commander fighters to those in the real world in the 1980s/1990s. The only such match I am fairly confident of is the one between Thunderbolt and F-15 and, to a lesser extent, that of Rapier and F-14 (especially of the "super fighter" hype and the WC1 references to Top Gun). Nooooow about Hellcat, I would say something like F-4: A product of many design iterations, fairly armed for dogfights for its time, capable to do reconnaissance work as in WC4 Tyr missions, and easy to maintain in large numbers as you said. No wonder the Confederation chose Hellcats over Arrows to keep as its main medium fighter.

Arrows are light fighters and I dont think Confed chose Hellcats over Arrows. They co existed during Kilrathi war and after during the 2673-74 conflict with Border Worlds .

We really dont know how old these fighters are , there are no designations ( except the *StarSolider pdf that released with Wing Commander Arena and mostly is more a fan service from BanditLOAF and others ) .

Young me always thought Arrow F-5 , Hellcat F-16 , , Excalibur F-15 and Lance maybe a new generation like F-22 .
Young me is very stubborn and now I cannot change the way I look at these fighters :P :P
