Don't worry about it. There's no "English only" rule here, though generally speaking changing halfway through a conversation is a little awkward.

It's not that hard to translate stuff these days anyway though. It's two clicks on my PC for most content. It's easy to forget that not everyone here is a native English speaker and are at times translating their initial posts. They can just as easily forget to take the extra time to translate from time to time. If they can put up with reading everything in English, I can put up with non English posts from time to time. If our forums were a lot busier these days then it might make more sense to have a dedicated area for other languages, but I just don't see that as a problem right now.
 
@AD That's what I thought too. Translation is just one klick away these days. But I thougt again and came to the conclusion, let it go.

I don't wanted to switch the whole conversation into German. It just felt not polite to me to reply to a German comment in English. Anyways, case closed. Let's move on.

@Mash That's great. I am already checking out v0.0.5 for a German retro gaming Youtube channel who wants to cover this game in the near future. I am packing this in a convinient easy to use Installer for the channel owner (it's not his thing to fiddle around with additional files) because the Gog version is not that ideal.
 
New version of the Privateer 2 patch is up v0.1.0, links in the first post.
This ones all about input. It adds the in-game controller setup utility (Alt + J) as well as allows for control of GUI screens with controller and keyboard. This was previously limited to just mouse control.
The in-game utility is similar to the one in my other patches but has some extra abilities for getting the most out of a limited number of buttons as well as options to change keyboard hotkeys. I've added some notes in the read-me about remapping buttons if it seems confusing. I'll probably update wc3 and 4 with these feature at some point.

Can't wait to get the chance to try this out! P2 is the only one I used mouse with in space flight. I could never get the dot in the centre of the yellow box in the joystick calibration, so i had a similar problem to wc3/4 where a slight pull back on the stick would nose down before going up. It was worse than wc3.

Finally got around to trying the WC4 enhancement patch. I was tearing my hair out because I couldn't get it to work with the GOG DVD version. Finally, I realized I downloaded the wrong enhancement pack. I had downloaded the one for the Win95 version instead of the DVD version. After fixing that, it ran fine.

I am very impressed. It looks great!

One question: If I'm using the 1080p HD video pack with upscaled 1080p VOB files, do the options for the interlacing of the movies and scaling even matter? What should those settings be set to?

Glad you got it working, I hope you enjoy it. If you run into any problems let me know. I'll add a note in future releases to make it a bit more obvious as to which package to download.

Yep, those settings affect the original low res movies in the standard version only and are pretty meaningless in the DVD version.
 
Hi everyone, all patches have seen updates recently. Links in the first post.
Along with bug fixes, the Controller Setup window has been updated for wc3 and wc4 to bring them more in line with the p2 patch. And in wc3 you can now replace the music with other options eg. George Oldziey's Orchestral Recordings. Enjoy.

Hello all, I'm revisiting WC3 for the first time in a long time, and ended up finding this enhancement patch. I've installed the patch on my WC3 downloaded from GOG on Windows 11, using WingLoader per the instructions here: https://github.com/mattwells77/Wing_Commander_III_Enhancement_Patch

I launch it from WingLoader & the HD videos look great! However, I can't get my joystick (Logitech Extreme 3d Pro) to work at all in flight. I've enabled the joystick in the options menu, and when I calibrate it, everything looks fine and functional in the pop-up window. But in-flight....no joy at all. Only the keyboard or mouse buttons do anything. Anyone have ideas to fix this?

The Controller Setup window has several tabs for setting up different profiles for the different sections of the game. I just want to confirm you have a profile setup for the Space section and not just the GUI section.
