Hi, everyone.

I just uploaded the latest version of my Wing Commander 3 Movie (WIP-v3) on YouTube.
My channel is cd1188_entertainment and the movie is available in four languages.




I'm now thinking to work on a Video-Pack like that one from ODVS.
That would take some work, because for my movie I converted only half of all videos.
Is there any interest here, or should I leave that to ODVS?

Maybe in 2 weeks I have a first version ready for testing.

I have just uploaded my first Version 1.0-beta1 of my HD Video Pack.

Some Information:

Compared with the ODVS version, the following missing clips have been added:
sc_039a.mp4 -> Was missing in the French pack, but has now added.
sc_169a.mp4 -> I added at the end a new scene from the PC version but audio is only in English and German.
sc_510a.mp4 -> Is only available in English and Japanese, but has added to all language packs.
sc_214aa(bb).mp4 -> Was missing in the French pack, but has now added.
sc_214h.mp4 -> Was missing in the French pack, but has now added.
sc_201t.mp4 -> Missing Arrow video extracted from the PC.
sc_201u.mp4 -> Video with helmet extracted from PSX (audio ok?).
origin_sa.mp4 -> Origin intro from the PC with my cd1188 intro at the beginning.
enda.mp4 -> End credit clip about Star Wars from the PC.
lifta.mp4 -> Lift up.
liftb.mp4 -> Lift down.

Alternative Video Folder:
sc_169a_alternative.mp4 -> Optional shorter version from the PSX (should it be the default version?)
origin_sa_without_cd1188_logo.mp4 -> Origin intro without my logo at the beginning.


Changes:
sc_221a.mp4 -> Audio had a delay and is now fixed (see laser-sound from Kilrathi fighter).
sc_205m.mp4 -> The door-sound was wrong and is now fixed.
sc_203a(b).mp4 -> Sound was reversed in EN but is correct in DE, FR, JP -> is now fixed.
There are no more cross-fades between the jump cuts !!
In general, I also made some color correction and a strong one by the lift-clip.
... some little CGI-glitches in the original videos are corrected, but I don't remember all.

3do_takeoff_arrow.mp4 -> From 3DO

Notes for this Beta-1:
There could be some artefacts from the upscaling and maybe small sound hiccups at the transition.
Some faces could be improved for a final version (maybe)
Should I change color grading? -> I don't want lose details by adding to much contrast.
Should I add film grain?
So feel free to give me some feedback.

Yours feel so natural, very clear but also very natural. I love it. WC4 and ODVS work fine no problem
 
I use the original movies with the great WC3 Enhancement Patch thus far, as I have found the pixel versions to be much more bearable than the upscales. Better no details and raw pixels than garrish and obviously wrong detail in pretty much everything except a close-up.

How does this new version hold up, is there a preview somewhere? Has it improved much over the WIP2 video?

On my YouTube channel is the new Version-WIP3 to compare... it has improved a lot but still not perfect

I just noticed that the audio of "sc_158a.mp4" is in the french pack extremely slow (also in ODVS's version) and half of the audio track is missing. I just checked it in the PS1 emulator, and the glitch is even present in the game itself ?!
Does anyone know if this problem also occurs on real hardware? I found out that the audio track was recorded at 44.1 kHz but is playing at 22 kHz. It seems like the error is on the CD. I was able to get the audio track to play at the correct speed, but unfortunately half of it is missing.

Edit: I have updated the French Pack .. the first part in the video is now in French and the last is in English.

Given the outstanding video quality you delivered for Wing3, no one will doubt that Wing4 will be perfectā€”and the source material for Wing4 is even better than it was for Wing3.
 
Hey CD, since youā€™re currently working on the WC4 video clips, I wanted to ask if you might be able to upload a little previewā€”perhaps on your YouTube channel? Iā€™m really looking forward to the final result, because Iā€™m absolutely certain itā€™s going to turn out fantastic. šŸ˜Š

Lol... Right now I'm pretty busy with my day job, but maybe I'll upload the intro from WC4 as a Teaser... Some scenes still have a bit of interlacing artifacts, and I'm still testing to see what the correct aspect ratio is. The video is saved as 704x480, but It looks like the aspect ratio isn't 4:3 but 1:1? The ODVS videos are 16:9 but the edges are cropped, and I don't want that. But a teaser doesn't have to be perfect šŸ˜„
 
As I said, thereā€™s no rush at allā€”and I can certainly imagine how time-consuming this whole process is. Iā€™ve tried using AI to upscale video clips myself, and the amount of time it takesā€”even when you have a very powerful PCā€”is truly enormous. Your WC3 clips are a real masterpiece, so Iā€™m just looking forward to whatever project youā€™re working on next!
