One tactic I used in the demo was to rush straight for the capital ship with the afterburner as soon as it appeared. I'd destroy its turrets and then calmly deal with the fighters. If I destroyed the capital ship first, a new, shiny one would appear.

The demo I played used a game trailer with selected scenes and a voiceover as its introduction. I know it by heart.

In those days when managing MS-DOS memory was more of an art than a science, I remember installing Windows 95 and for the first time being able to see the demo that came with a CD from Micromania magazine. I played the demo to death. I discovered the free shuttle feature and played it even...

Hang in there. I hope you recover soon.

It reminds me of the HUD with synthetic images and icons at the top of Starlancer. 🤔🤔🤔

Hi, I'm Esteban, from Valencia, Spain. In the 90s, my parents renovated the house, and I became friends with the bricklayer's son. One day he brought home a game on floppy disks that took forever to install on my 386 SX at 25 MHz. That's how I discovered Wing Commander 2. Although Star Wars...

Great purchase! I started playing Wing Commander I right after Wing Commander Prophecy came out. My friends couldn't understand how, with a super PC and 3DFX acceleration, I was playing something so old when I had the latest title in the series. But I enjoyed it as if I were back in 1990.

I use AI almost daily, and this is a good example of why its results should be taken with a grain of salt. I asked Gemini which cities were attacked, and it told me this: Chicago and Washington D.C.: These cities are explicitly mentioned as primary targets of the orbital bombardment. Much of...

I've always thought Washington was devastated in the Kilrathi attack on Fleet Action. A quick, superficial reading didn't show that the Capitol was destroyed. 🤔🤔🤔

I suppose that when I find audio files with the voices, I'll turn off the subtitles...

I've always thought the Kilrathi have a theory that explains they evolved from tigers, just as humans have the same theory, only we descend from monkeys. Both in Kilrathi and on Earth, there are tigers and monkeys, or at least similar beings. While humans find apes stupid or comical, the...

WoW! Very nice.

You're right, I've managed to successfully replace some of the voices in the WC2 intro. Thank you very much. I have no doubt that you are doing a great job. 🥰🥰🥰

I already have many files prepared. Will your work also work for other games like WC2, or only Privateer? Thank you!

It's always interesting to learn about the seeds that germinated in Wing Commander.

Wow, great work!

I've noticed that the male bartenders' dialogue is in VPK files, and the female bartenders' dialogue is in VPF files. I assume it's the same file type...

Thank you so much. I already have some voices. It's a long but steady process. By the way, if anyone who speaks Spanish with a Peninsular or neutral accent would like to participate, they're welcome.

Someday I will share my story with the fate of Blair, the Confederacy, and the war with the Nephilim.

I downloaded it, but the executables aren't doing anything. What am I doing wrong? Do I need the original game?
