I remember read a Computer Gaming World issue in 1997 reviewing WCP, and how it gave it a 4-and-a-half stars instead of a full five.

Reason: Lack of promised multiplayer patch.

Funny thing...
I was just playing Sid Meier's Civilization III and read many comments on how it lacked multiplayer capabilities.
Oddest thing, when I dug up the INI files, I noticed some options for Net games... but not much about how.

Funnier thing: There was this one line about Alpha Centauri Disc.
