So I was watching the Men’s Soccer World Cup yesterday and I thought, I recognized the font on the back of Canada‘s jersey. Are they actually using the Wing Commander font or is it just really similar? You can take a look here or here at their official store.
 
Do we know how STOP has been decided to be used in Wing Commander I?

Also what is the font in Armada? The box art is really cool and the font just adds the right amount of sci-fi 🔥🔥

I recall them using it on Babylon 5 a time or two as well. Wing Commander appears to be unique in its treatment of the letter "I"; most other places it comes out lowercase, including Galactica. I've heard that they used the pipe character instead - which is what I did when I was making the cover on the RPG, though I had to adjust its size so it'd fit with the rest of the lettering.

Probably a story there about why Origin did that. Or not.
 
The Babylon 5 font is Serpentine, also from the early 70s! Privateer 2 uses it in several places diegetically.
 
I was thinking specifically about the usage of the STOP font in the B5 season 1 finale, right before President Santiago is killed. They have the absolute lamest ball drop ever in the bar to celebrate the New Year (it's a single streamer that goes up and says "Happy New Year", printed in STOP.)

I want to say they use the font in the show one other time, but I don't recall exactly where; I could be wrong.

(I suppose I could be wrong about the whole thing...)
 
Ahh no I was just confused. I am pretty sure they use STOP in Babylon 5 on occasion (especially early on... in fact I think the original series pitch uses it for the header?).

Serpentine is the familiar B5 font with the kind of swooshy straight lines in the letters.
 
Fun fact - when I was in juco, we had a Video Toaster 4000 with early Lightwave 3D - the same system they used to make the graphics for B5.
I went off to OU a few years later. Bigger college but they only had the VT 2000...
