I spoke too soon on the Win10 VM, the OpenGL does not work. The game closes when you start a mission.

I remember this working in the WinXP VM.

I put in a ticket with gog about it not working on Win11.
I'm still quite suprised about your difficutlies. Must be somethinmg about your computer or your installation. Mine didn't give so much trouble. Ended base Prophecy last day and am now with Secret Ops.

By the way, is it me or is SO way harder than Prophecy? Specially the missions scorting the Cerberus. I got it blown up like three times in a nav point 4. I'm using the nav map constantly and still...

Ok. I got it working in a WinXP VM. I could not get it to work with the OpenGL patch.

So, I am just running the version straight from gog with glide emulation.

I used the instructions on this post: https://www.wcnews.com/chatzone/thr...ecret-ops-model-update-pack.28103/post-411476

The K-lite part was a total waste, as I wasn't able to get audio on the enhanced nor the DVD videos (and sometimes they crash too). But the original videos works just fine and they show without scanlines. And, yes you have to leave the prophecy.exe unchanged, otherwise it will ask for a CD.

Also, I had to use this file, as I got a crash in T'lan 4a:

Also used the fps patch:

I've set all the opengl settings to full, fps to 100 and resolution to 4k:

The game runs perfect and feels very smooth and responsive (much more than III and IV which had an annoying bug with joystick aiming).

By the way, if you want to launch the game from prophecy.exe (which is the default in GOG), you have to launch it as admin for the opengl patch to work. Also, remember to remove any compatibility setting on that exe:

Try this .. open the GLOpengl.cfg and set - forceAutoSpec "FALSE" -- it should be work

I got the game to work with the OpenGL patch. It turned out that my laptop was the problem. It was trying to run it on the Intel GPU instead of the better Nvidia GPU. This was causing the OpenGL to fail. I had to force the game to use the Nvidia GPU.

I can't get the HD videos to work at all. The originals work fine.

Try this to get the hd movies working. Instructions in the zip.

I was able to get Prophecy working on my Windows 11 Laptop - using a RTX 3050 using all the latest patches, even all the HD videos. Auto-slide doesn't work correctly in the flight engine. It's a toggle on/off instead of hold-to-use. The first couple times I open it after installing it crashes, but then it works beautifully, like the GPU has to spin up or something. I completed the entire game with very occasional crashes. I had to download a modded Panther texture at one point, but then it worked fine after that. I

My desktop computer using Intel Arc A770 16GB will run SecretOps but not Prophecy. Secret Ops looks stunning these days. A couple minor texture issues, but nothing game-breaking. Prophecy will run in Software mode, but not Direct3d or OpenGL. Glide won't work either, even using a wrapper.

Hi all,

Saw a similar discussion re: WCP in windows 11 posted on another thread and I figured it would make sense to post in this one as well. Thanks in advance for any input or support!!

Hi all,

Have been reading this thread with great interest as I recently upgraded my laptop and am running on Windows 11 with the ARC 140V GPU graphics card, with the GOG version of WCP.

Have tried to get WCP to work following all the instructions included in this thread, with varying degrees of success. Given the native ARC 140V graphics card that comes with the lenovo, I also installed a dgvoodoo2 patch which ultimately allowed me to get the game to run with the hi-res videos, but absolutely no audio as described in previous posts. Then after installing WCPUNL B6.4, was able to get the videos to run with audio but the entire game, both videos and in game play showed completely black. Like I couldn't see a thing.

Given the number of patches, updates, workarounds that have circulated over the years, would it be possible to get a list of step by step instructions on how which patches to install, in which sequence, that lead to WCP being run on Win 11? Apologies in advance if I've misread previous posts or if the solution is a simple as 1) install GOG WCP; 2) install WCPUNL B6.4, 3) install open GL 1.3 and then you're good to go.....

Thanks in advance for anyone's input!

I ran through a complete setup for myself back in September time on Windows 10 (not 11) and applying the items in the following order worked for me:
WCP
Install from GOG
Right click on Prophecy.exe and disable compatability modes to remove the hanging cursor
In options disable interlacing
unzip to folder
do not overwrite prophecy.exe or it will say it requires CD1
do not run install.exe!!!!!
Right click on Prophecy.exe and disable compatability modes to remove the hanging cursor
no longer see glide splash screen or hanging cursor
unzip to folder and overwrite wcphr.dll
Create a folder called Movie and unzip the .VOB files here
Rename the folder Movie to DVDMovie
Create a folder called Movie and unzip the .mp4 files here
No need to rename them to VOB
Finally change resolution up to 1920x1080
Install, and check the box for updated models

This chain worked for me - but it was fiddly and did require a fair bit of trial and error!
